Description: Job Title: Sit-Down Forklift Operator - Shipping and Receiving Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Sit-Down Forklift Operator to join our team in the shipping and receiving department. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in shipping and receiving operations, with the ability to efficiently load trucks, pick, pack, and fulfill warehouse orders. If you have a proven track record of safe forklift operation and are adept at managing inventory and shipments. Responsibilities: Operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials and products throughout the warehouse. Load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate and timely shipment of goods. Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications. Utilize handheld scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory and update records. Perform regular cycle counts and participate in physical inventory counts as needed. Organize and maintain warehouse inventory in designated storage areas. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience operating sit-down forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment. Strong understanding of shipping and receiving procedures, including loading, and unloading trucks, order picking, and packing. Familiarity with handheld scanners and warehouse management systems. Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and orders. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting. Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
