Machine Operator Slitter Trainee
The Machine Operator Slitter Trainee is an entry-level position designed to support and learn the slitting process in a plastics manufacturing environment. This role assists the main Slitter Operator with daily production tasks while developing the technical and mechanical skills required to advance into a Slitter Operator position.
Assist Slitter Operator: Help with machine setup, loading and unloading rolls, and preparing materials for production.
Machine Support: Learn to operate slitting equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
Material Handling: Move and stage rolls of film or other materials for processing; assist in packaging and labeling finished products.
Quality Support: Help perform visual and basic quality checks to ensure materials meet specifications.
Documentation: Support in maintaining production records, labeling rolls, and logging material usage.
Housekeeping: Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from safety hazards.
Safety: Follow all plant safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Learning & Development: Participate in on-the-job training to gain knowledge of slitting machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Entry-Level Friendly: No prior slitting experience required training provided.
Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of tools, machinery, or production processes preferred.
Attention to Detail: Ability to follow directions accurately and inspect materials for quality.
Teamwork: Works well in a team environment and communicates effectively with operators and supervisors.
Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
Physical Requirements: Able to lift and move materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr
Pay Cycle: Weekly
Shift: 1st Shift (Monday Friday; 1-hour lunch)
