Job Title 2nd shift Press Operator

Press brake operators produce parts and tools from metal using a press brake, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision bends. The use of hand tools such as dial calipers, bar micrometer, squares and protractors. Converting decimals to fractions is also part of the daily tasks.

JOB DUTIES:

• Operates Computer Numerical Control (CNC) on respective AMADA brand equipment

• Performs machine set-ups, adjusting and loading tooling, and making changes at the controls for parts as required for specifications set forth in blueprints, drawings, engineering orders, etc.

• Check parts for conformance to prescribed tolerances

• Operator/Setup and operate machines, independently with limited supervision

• Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and/or materials to Supervisor or Quality Control Specialist (QC)

• Ensure the work area is kept clean and free from hazards

• collaborate with other departments as needed

• Assist in departmental measurable goals relating production concerns, quality and efficiency

• Assist in monthly inventory count to ensure proper inventory control

• Actively look for ways to improve the profitability and productivity of the company

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Must have AMADA or TRUMPF operator experience

• Must be able to work at fast pace, follow instructions and be self-motivated

• Requires excellent math skills including fractions, and geometry

• Requires ability to read measuring equipment, calipers and other tools

• Work independently with minimal supervision

• Must work well with others

• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely

• Ability to stand for minimum of 8 hours

• Ensure and verify parts match to customer drawings

• Provide immediate feedback when problems occur

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Cad or drafting experience a plus

Must have AMADA or TRUMPF operator experience (1-2 years minimum experience). Experience with Amada HDS, HG Press Brakes or Cincinnati Press Brakes a plus
