CUTTING DEPARTMENT LASER AND TURRET PUNCH PRESS SETUP/OPERATOR

Reports to: Plant Operations General Manager

Location: St Charles

Job Tile: Press Operator

Shift: 7am- 3:30pm

Payrate: $22-$26

Set-up, Operate Lasers and Turret Punch Presses. Includes setup, tooling and loading in machine to

produce a variety of small, medium and/or large parts, ranging from simple to complex, which are within

prescribed tolerances.

JOB DUTIES:

Operates Computer Numerical Control (CNC) on respective AMADA brand equipment

Performs machine set-ups, adjusting and loading tooling, and making changes at the controls for

parts as required for specifications set forth in blueprints, drawings, engineering orders, etc.

Check parts for conformance to prescribed tolerances

Operator/Setup

Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and/or materials to Supervisor or Quality

Control Specialist (QC)

Setup and operate machines, independently with limited supervision

Ensure the work area is kept clean and free from hazards

Collaborate with other departments as needed

Assist in departmental measurable goals relating production concerns, quality and efficiency

Assist in monthly inventory count to ensure proper inventory control

Actively look for ways to improve the profitability and productivity of the company

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Experience welcomed but not necessary, willing to train the right motivated individual

Ability to interpret documents and drawings

Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems

Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

Must be organized and pay close attention to detail to optimize quality processes and increase

efficiency

Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely

Ability to stand for minimum of 8 hours

Experience with any of the following is a plus: Amada Vipros, Amada EMK, Amada AE, Turret Press

Machines, Mitsubishi Laser

SAFETY EQUIPTMENT:

Steel toe Shoes / boots

Safety glasses
